The Island Team U18 Girls kicked off their season in impressive fashion with a 59-7 victory over a strong and determined Kowloon side. The girls got off to a flying start, crossing for two hard-earned early tries and setting the tone for an outstanding team performance. Kowloon proved to be tough opponents throughout, showing plenty of resilience and never giving up despite the scoreboard, continuing to challenge the Island Team right until the final whistle.

The Island Team displayed some excellent rugby across the park, moving the ball confidently and showcasing a strong offloading game. However, it was their physicality that truly stood out. A dominant set piece provided the platform for some outstanding phase play, allowing the team to maintain control for much of the match. Defensively, the girls were equally impressive, showing real grit and determination to hold out a powerful Kowloon attack whenever tested.

Special mention must go to both Eloisa and Cassandra, who made a significant impact in their first games back from injury. Eloisa also crossed the line for an impressive hat-trick, while fly-half Luca was exceptional from the tee, keeping the scoreboard ticking over throughout the morning. Overall, it was a fantastic day for girls' youth rugby in Hong Kong, with both teams contributing to an entertaining and competitive contest. The Island Team girls can be particularly proud of the courage, physicality, and defensive resolve they showed against such strong opposition. It was an excellent start to the season for the Island Team U18 Girls squad as a whole.
