***FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS***

What is the focus of the U5 – U12 (Born 2010 – 2018) Minis Rugby Programme?

These sessions will have a real focus on learning through games and fun with specialized skill sessions along the way. The emphasis of the camp will be on developing core rugby skills, along with promoting key fundamentals such as hand-eye coordination, communication, teamwork and problem-solving.

There will be a wellness day on Thursday of each week where we will step away from the pitch and instead have a multi sports beach day at Repulse Bay.

What is the focus of the U13 – U14 (Born 2008 – 2009) Youth Rugby Programme?

These sessions have a bigger emphasis on the development of skills and preparing our young athletes for the future of rugby. This will give the players a broader understanding of perhaps what it takes to make it to the next level. Programmed strength and conditioning sessions will be explained and the importance of fitness components such as speed, power and agility. The main chunk of our sessions will focus on core rugby skills, exploring themes and principles of rugby such as attack and defence, along with Players undergoing clinics for position-specific skills such as kicking, passing and setpiece.

Thursday will involve a wellness day also at Repulse Bay, with a multi sport element and a rest and recovery theme. Yoga instructors and fun all included.

Will the course content be the same for the same age group session options?

The focus and learning outcomes will be the same however there is a panel of coaches that will be rotated and the drills will be altered depending on duplicate sign-ups, feedback from the first session and coaches personal preferences.

Will there be contact rugby played?

There will be contact rugby played for the appropriate age groups (i.e. U9 (or those born in 2013) and above) in accordance to current HKRU guidelines and social distancing measures.

No. We welcome and encourage newcomer attendance.
