VF Rugby training Sunday 3rd September.

Good morning,

I hope that you are all well. Sorry that we had to delay the Colts start to the season last week but at least we tested our wet weather protocols!!

Weather

I’ve been told that there is a chance of, yet, another typhoon this weekend. I hope that this isn’t the case but keep an eye on the HK observatory. Our website includes the info of when we play/don’t play:http://www.valleyfort.com/weather.aspx

- training will be cancelled on typhoon signal 8 or above

- training will be cancelled on red or black rain warning

- training will be cancelled on thunderstorm signal

Colts

Our Colts are NOT training at HV6 this Thursday evening but WILL train on Sunday 3rd September @ HV6 (the old HV8 pitch).

U13, U14 & U14G @ 10.30am – 11.45am.

U16 & U19 @ 11.45am – 1pm.

We should also be distributing new kit from Kukri for those players that were registered prior to end-June and measured at Escapade in Repulse Bay. If you/your child was  NOT measured I’d recommend that you get to Escapade in Repulse Bay and get yourself measured. There are two more orders to be processed – the next order closes 31 August and the final order closes 17 September. Kit for those orders will arrive approx. 7 weeks later.

Looking forward Colts start Thursday evening training next Thursday, 7 September, 6:15-7:45pm, HV#6.

Minis

Our minis start training on Sunday at St Stephens. Look at the attachment for training locations on the pitch.

U5, U6, U7 & U8 @ 08.30am – 09.45am.

U9, U10, U10G & U12G @ 09.30am – 10.45am.

U11 & U12 @ 10.30 – 12.00.

Distribution for Minis

It should be fairly simple – child plays rugby and the parent heads to the distribution desk, give your child’s name, receive a single Kukri bag with your child’s pre-measured, pre-ordered items in it, collect a new rugby ball, take a mouthguard if you want one, turn and leave.  (##fingers crossed##)

If Sunday is Dry weather – we will aim to distribute new kit trackside by the changing rooms.

If Sunday is Wet weather – we will aim to distribute new kit up the slope under cover at the schools canteen area.

Each age group needs at least two (preferably three/four) volunteers to help distribute the kit.

If your child was  NOT measured I’d recommend that you get to Escapade in Repulse Bay and get them/him/her measured asap. There are two more orders to be processed – the next order closes 31 August and the final order closes 17 September. Kit for those orders will arrive with VF approx. 7 weeks later.

New Parents - the first morning of the season is always a little 'busy' with kids, parents, balls and kit winging everywhere. It can also be a little confusing finding your way to the right age group so when you arrive look for the white Valley Fort mini tent and someone will be there to meet you. Also please read the attached letter that is attached.

XBlades boots will be at SS on Sunday. Dan will be selling x-blades at St Stephen's on 3rd September however you can also order in advance and collect them on the day.

Parents can reserve a max. of 2 pairs in advance.

Mouthguards, sadly Armory mouthguards cannot make this Sunday but we will try to get them to SS on 10 September.

Recruitment and Open dayGet your child(ren) to start thinking about who they will bring to our Valley Fort recruitment day on 24th September. On the 24th we will have all Boys mini age groups at The Fort and ALL girls age groups at St Stephens. Further details to follow but get it in the diary and get the kids thinking about who they will bring.

Finally - there is no parking at St Stephens. Also no pets, don't let your other kids wander off away from the pitch. Please bring enough water for your kids also. If the kids do run out of water our food sponsor, 3 Blind Mice, will be selling water, hot food, drinks, etc.

See you all Sunday.

Best

Keir
