VF update, Wednesday 11th October

Good afternoon,

I hope that you are all well. Only a few things to cover this week (which is nice!)

Sunday 15 Oct - Training and Games:

Colts have games and/or training. You’ll have received (or about to receive) an email from your age group coach with details.

Minis are at St Stephens pitches.

U5s to U8s: 08:30 - 09:45

U9s, U10s, U10G, U12G: 09:30 - 10.45

U11s & U12s: 10:30 - 12:00

St Stephen’s Pitch quality

I will not bore you with the details but we are (still) working with the school, the Union and HK Cricket to get the pitch properly repaired. We are making some progress but it’s unlikely to be fixed by this Sunday but we remain hopeful that it will be fixed in the coming weeks.

St Stephen’s pitches – left items and rubbish

There has been increasing amounts of rubbish being left by the parents on and around the pitches (particularly on the cricket crease). This means that the U11 and U12 coaches have to tidy up other people’s mess at the end of practice. Let’s stop this now please. If you take food or drink (or buy it from 3 Blind Mice) to St Stephen’s then dispose of it in the bins as you leave, this also includes any snacks that you give to your child.

Regal Hotels Cup of Nations 2017

HK host Kenya, Chile and Russia over three match days in November. The games on Friday 10th & Tuesday 14th will be at Kings Park while the games on Saturday 18th are due to be played at HKFC. Tickets are available on Ticketflap. https://www.hkrugby.com/pages/regal-hotels-cup-of-nations-2017

Medical volunteers

The HKRU is running an English speaking First Aid in Sports (FIS) course on Sat 21 October and a Cantonese speaking course on Sat 28th Oct. The Club already has a number of volunteers attending these courses but the Union still has places available. The club will pay the course fee for volunteers who wish to attend. Please let Tim Durant know if you like to understand more: timothy_durant@manulife.com

That’s me for this week. Have a good one.

Bests

Keir
