**Valley Fort Registration is NOW OPEN - Please read and act BEFORE you depart on summer holiday**

Valley Fort parents,

I hope that you are all looking forward to the summer break ahead. This is the first of two emails you will receive from me today – IT’S IMPORTANT THAT YOU READ AND ACT ON THIS EMAIL BEFORE 25TH JUNE.

Topics covered in this email:

1.            Registration

2.            Recruitment

3.            Season Start

4.            Head Coaches for 2017/18

5.            Coach the Coaches

  1. Registration is now open.

http://www.valleyfort.com/MembershipRegistration.aspx

It’s a TWO step process this year:

1.            Register your child, and pay the registration fees, via the VF website,

2.            Get your child size fitted (or yourself if you are a coach - kit is now there) at Escapade Sports in Repulse Bay,

2a.          If you are outside the country please follow the attachments and send back to ME and Jessie by 25th June.

IF YOU COMPLETE BOTH OF THESE STEPS BY END OF PLAY SUNDAY 25TH JUNE YOUR CHILD WILL HAVE THE NEW SEASON PLAYING KIT ON DAY ONE OF THE SEASON. IF YOU DO NOT YOUR CHILD WILL NOT HAVE THEIR NEW KIT DELIVERED TO THE CLUB UNTIL SOME POINT IN SEPTEMBER OR IF YOU SIGN UP ON YOUR RETURN FROM THE SUMMER YOUR CHILD WILL NOT HAVE KIT UNTIL END OF OCTOBER.

We’ve made a marginal increase to registration fees this year but are still keeping a discount for age groups where we are actively seeking more players. We feel that these fees continue to represent exceptional value given the investment the club makes in our coaching set up.

Fees for 2017-18 are as follows:

  • U5 to U8 (Non-contact) boys and girls – HK$2,500
  • U9 upward (Contact) boys – HK$2,850
  • U9 upward (Contact) girls – HK$2,350
  • New U13, U14, U16 and U19 (Colts) boys – HK$2,350
  • Part-time membership (for overseas players) – HK$2,00

If you experience any problems with the registration process please contact Jessie immediately on valleyfort.info@gmail.com

2.       Recruiting additional players & referral bonus. Most of our marketing to new players continues through word-of-mouth.  We want to encourage your kids to get their friends to sign up – across ALL age groups. We will continue with the HK$200 referral payment for kids who recruit new players in, so please make them aware of this and get them to recruit their friends. Please remind those friends to indicate your kids’ name in the referral field when they sign up.

3.       Season start date FOR MINIS is likely to be September 4, COLTS it’s likely to be August 27. We still haven’t got confirmation of pitches from Stanley Fort or St. Stephen’s but plan on these dates until you hear more from us.

4.       Head coaches for 2017-18. We have had a couple of changes in the age group leadership roles. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the outgoing head coaches (Maarten Ooms – U5 last year, Andy Schroth – U8 Co-Head,  Jon Dingley & Duncan Smith – U11) for all their hard work. I’m glad to welcome Cassius Taylor-Smith as U5 head coach, Philip Lynch in U12 and Robert Sleigh in U14G (merely confirmation as he has been doing this role for some time already.

5.       Coach-the-coach sessions in August. Further details to follow, but we have provisionally marked  the 27th August as the Minis coach-the-coach training. I’d encourage all who plan to get involved in coaching to attend this session.

I look forward to seeing you all at the start of the 2017-18 season.

All the best,

Keir
