HK 7s NEWS

Dear Club contacts

Warrick Dent passed me your email addresses and I am contacting you because we are organising a mass stadium dance during the sevens this year.  We hope to achieve something similar to this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQ3d3KigPQM

Our plan is to have a choreographer come to the football club one or two nights in early March to teach groups of you the simple dance moves. We will video tape the rehearsals and make the tape available through facebook and other networking sites so that others can learn them.  This way we hope to get one of the biggest mobdances in stadium history!

Please distrubute this email to all of your club members and freinds who have tickets to the sevens. Please get back to me ASAP to indicate interest  and we will let you know what evenings will be alloted for rehearsals.

Best wishes

Pete Kline

GIRLS RUGBY

  • Girls Mini Rugby

Valley Fort RFC is happy to announce that (Dr) Robert Stevenson has kindly agreed to take on the role as Head Coach of the minis girls section this season.

This is a new initiative which has come about in response to the increasing numbers of girls who show up on a Sunday morning and want to play separate from the boys. We will not prohibit the girls continuing to mix in with boys if they wish but to get this new section off the ground I feel we should encourage the girls to play separately.

Robert is looking for coaches and any others who are willing to help!

    Please e-mail Robert at: dr.steven@fsandp.com

  • Girls Colts Rugby

Rugby is a fun and active sport that suits all players of different age and physiques. It gives children the opportunity to play a team sport which benefits both physically and socially. Valley Fort RFC is one of Hong Kong’s leading youth rugby club. We currently have over 500 registered players and run a number of teams all the way up to Under 19’s. This season we are continuing to expand and are looking to establish 3 girls’ teams:

    • Under 14 Colts
    • Under 16 Colts
    • Under 19 Colts

These three teams will be involved in major rugby festivals involving all clubs around Hong Kong, Kowloon and the New Territories, such as the Super Sundays. It also gives the girls an opportunity to play in the New Years’ Day tournament at the Football Club as well as the Hong Kong Sevens in March.
The 3 teams will be closely supported by the Valley RFC Senior Women’s team, who won the league Grand Championship last season.  The 3 teams will train together on Thursdays and/or Sundays (venue in HK Island to be confirmed) from September 2009 to March 2010. Coaches will be members of the Valley RFC Senior teams which also feature players in the Hong Kong National Team.
Our overall aims are to introduce girls to the fun sport of rugby participating in the Club Colts League and possibly develop them into players to participate in the Senior League.
Valley Fort RFC would very much appreciate your support on telling your students about this great opportunity and our coaches will be happy to schedule a visit to your school and present a “Rugby Workshop” to introduce your students to the sport.
Please contact Adma Andrade at admaandrade@hotmail.com for more information about Valley Fort RFC Girls Rugby.
