LATEST FROM HKRFU - May 2006

Dear All,

Unfortunately the rugby community is currently suffering from a minor outbreak of hand, foot and mouth disease. Two of our coaches, two youngsters from our Shatin summer training course centre, and 2 students from the summer tertiary course have come down with the virus; it is not dangerous, but rather unpleasant and extremely contagious - you can find out more at <http://www.chp.gov.hk/content.asp?lang=en&id=24&info_id=23&pid=9>

We have taken medical advice, reported the outbreak to the Health Authority, and we have closed the Shatin, Taipo and Kowloon Bay training centres temporarily until the incubation period has passed. If you are currently still training, whether seniors, colts or minis and any of your players have been involved with summer training at Shatin or Kowloon Bay or the Tertiary programme in either a playing or coaching role - I WOULD URGE YOU CONSIDER STOPPING TRAINING FOR THE NEXT WEEK.

If any of your kids develop fever and rashes on hands and feet, please seek medical treatment and also let us know through purple.leung@hkrugby.com If you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a line or call 97503463.

Cheers,
