LATEST FROM HKRFU - January 2006
Dear All,
I realise that most clubs will be on holiday this weekend, but if you do get
a chance please encourage as many youngsters as possible to come along to
watch the Hong Kong team play in the Asian Games Qualification Tournament
next Saturday - it's a young Hong Kong team, mix of expats and locals, all
born in Hong Kong, and nearly all have come through our minis and colts, so
excellent examples for our youngsters! There are actually 3 time slots
available during the tournament as well, so if any teams would like to play
a demonstration 7s game, please let me know!
On Saturday February 4th Hong Kong will host the 2006 Asian Games Rugby
Sevens Qualification Tournament, sponsored by ABC Asia Pacific TV. One slot
remains for the Doha Asian Games, and Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, Malaysia and
Singapore will battle it out to secure that place.
The action starts at 1.30pm in the magnificent setting of the Hong Kong
Football Club, one of Asia's finest sporting clubs, and the Cup Final is
scheduled to kick-off at 6.20pm. Entrance is free, refreshments are
available, and there will be a free "Bauhinia Bandana" for every youngster.
This tournament is proudly sponsored by ABC Asia Pacific TV; their exclusive
coverage of international competitions featuring Australia, New Zealand and
South Africa, including the Super 14s, the Bledisloe Cup and the Tri Nations
series begins February 10. You can watch Asia Pacific TV on HKBN, I-cable,
and NOW TV - for more details go to www.abcasiapacific.com
