COACHES BRIEFING:

End of 2006/07 Season

Well……what a fabulous end to the season; I trust all had a memorable Sevens, both on and off the pitch. I thought the players were fantastic during the March Past and it was the most organized and least stressful parade to which I have been party! Many thanks to you all for your efforts this year and I would just like to highlight a few notables:

  1. Many thanks to Hugh for his sterling work as Chairman over the last few years and for passing over a club in great shape to Carl who I know has plenty of ideas on how to take the Club forward so we are in great hands

  2. Best wishes and thanks to Hugh and his U12 coaches who are moving on as well as Damien Marmion who will not be with us next year but who has already identified his successor as well as Jim Randolph who too has found someone to take over the U5’s next season so we go into the new season with a full house of Head Coaches who will have an experienced supporting team in all cases

  3. We will continue to invest in coaching and will encourage all to attend the coaching and referees courses in which Hugh is playing an active role to further develop and tailor

  4. Following on from the very successful and enjoyable Singapore Tour, Carl plans to include an overseas tour as an annual event for the Club

  5. Our player roster has increased substantially over the last year and that is in large part due to the efforts and success of the coaches as well as the fantastic atmosphere generated at the Club which was further evidenced by the outstanding Club Dinner which, in addition to being huge fun, raised a substantial amount of money for charity and the Club

  6. You will no doubt hear from Carl prior to September as he intends to enter the new season in an organized and planned fashion which will require input from all Head Coaches

REMINDERS – STILL TO DO

  1. Notify Carl about your squad’s participation in the Aberdeen Festival on 22nd April
  2. Send Carl your squad Annual report

In closing for the year, your commitment and endeavours underpins the Club and all of you should feel rightly proud in the family club that is Valley Fort and enjoyed by so many.

Until next season, Happy Easter and enjoy the off season.

INFO / UPDATES:
