COACHES BRIEFING

SUNDAY 18th & 25th February 2007

I hope all squads enjoyed the very good natured PLA team who joined us on Sunday.

As there is no training on 18th due to the Chinese New Year break, a couple of notices in advance and some which require a response:

- Carl will be holding a meeting for all Head Coaches on 4th March at 11.30am at the Clubhouse; apologies to non contact Head Coaches who will have to hang around a bit (extend your session or enjoy a bacon buttie!) but it is important that all attend as there will be output which you will need to cascade down to your coaching team, players and parents. Please confirm your attendance to both Carl and myself but as an absolute last resort if you are in hospital or a hotel, please nominate a proxy

- Also, on 4th March we are hoping to be able to distribute 7’s tickets to those who ordered them through the Club so watch this space

- Please ensure you rally support from your age groups for the Club’s Annual Dinner Dance on 24th March at Café Deco (ticket cost and theme tbc); we really want many to step up and get involved…..good food, plenty of chateau collapso, great music/dodgy dancing and wacky clothes but most of all a wonderful opportunity to bond with other parents! As well as being huge fun and a good excuse for feeling shabby at the last day of training the next day, it also raises money for charity and the continued development of Valley Fort

- Remember to get your nominations for this season’s awards for your squad in to Carl by the end of February

- As I have not received any emails since I indicated that there would only be sufficient medals at the 7’s for the teams on the pitch plus up to 3 subs in the Showcase Games, I am assuming that none of Valley Fort’s age groups have excess players over and above the team entries submitted who would need to combine with excess players from other clubs in a Baa Baas team so as not to miss out

- Remind all in your weekly report of the Bill Mason Coaching School which he is holding next week over 3 days and details can be found at the top of our home page

- We have 2 more sessions (25th February and 4th March) before the Football Club Festival on 11th March

Happy New Year of the Pig, enjoy your break and see you on 25th.
