COACHES BRIEFING

Sunday 16th March 2008

I trust all had a successful and enjoyable Football Club Festival……special mention must go the U12 squad which won the Hawkes Cup against a very strong FC team so well done lads. Please let me have your squads results in the usual format by Tuesday latest.

  1. Please would those Head Coaches that have not informed me of their Aberdeen Festival entry (and not exceeding the host club’s team entry restrictions) do so by Tuesday
  2. Carl will handle the coaches report after training on 16th as I am away
  3. Please remind your squads that there is no training on 23rd
  4. You should have your teams set for the 7’s and ensure you stick to the schedule for both the showcase games and the March Past as there is no room for error or delay (please get all your members to keep an eye on the web for further news on the 7’s)
  5. A gentle reminder to ensure you let Carl, Hugh and I have your known coaching teams for next season and remember that we need all coaches to either be course certified already or register for the next round of courses and Hugh will keep you posted on this
  6. We would like all Head Coaches to post a season report after the 7’s with photos etc
  7. Please start considering any equipment requests for next season and let Carl know your thoughts
  8. Per Carl’s previous request, the Club can only function with volunteers and we need members to come forward to assist taking the Club forward so please ask your parents to put their hand up – for coaching roles but also roles such as Deputy Chairman, Deputy Director of Mini, Colts, Clubhouse, Membership Secretary, Events Manager etc – as we want to have our structure in place soon so we can properly prepare for next season and thereafter
  9. We had one instance of serious foul play today – although due to provocation, it is unacceptable to retaliate (or initiate) and has NO place in the game and will not be tolerated in Mini rugby but specifically not at Valley Fort and all (players, coaches and parents) are now on notice that we as a Club reserve the right to take action against any of our players who unacceptably transgresses in the future and it is the responsibility of all to get this point across to the children
