COACHES BRIEFING
SUNDAY 12th November 2006
FESTIVAL
- Good luck to all teams with the First Festival upon us on Sunday at King’s Park
- Please remind all to ensure they bring mouthguards, sun cream and hats if necessary as well as extra water
- Please would you all ensure that you have requested parents to act as photographers and scorers (results, try scorers, tacklers etc) for each team and post all of this in your report next week (I would also like to be emailed separately on each squad’s results so I can consolidate)
- It is essential that you remind coaches, players and parents about the codes of conduct, sporting behaviour etc
- All VF teams will be wearing black and red
- If any team has players who are playing up/down, please would the coach identify these players to the opposition coach and ref at the start of the match
- As each age group will have to provide refs during the tournament, please ensure you and your coaching team are familiar with the Laws relating to your age group
- Full schedule will be posted when the hosts release it but we have thus far been advised that U6 (U7J), U7, U9 & U11 will play between 0900-1215 hrs and U8, U10, U12 & Girls teams will play between 1215-1630 hrs
OTHER
- I am still waiting for a few of you to provide me the name of the parent who will act as your squad administrator as well as your squad interest levels in club arranged transport for the Kukris tournament so please get back to me
- All kit should I believe be done now (players and coaches) so thanks to Sally Peters given not only size issues but the large increase in our membership
- The HK national team is playing its World Cup Qualifying matches at the Football Club on 18th Nov at 1930(vs Japan), 21st Nov at 1930 (vs Korea) and 25th Nov at 1830 (Japan vs Korea) so encourage all to get down and provide some vociferous support….entrance is free, drinks are not
- Training on 19th November will not be at the Fort but venue has yet to be confirmed so keep an eye out on the web
- Please remember that each squad will soon need to select their Tour Captain and Vice Captain for Singapore so ensure your coaching staff keep an eye open for standouts
