COACHES BRIEFING
SUNDAY 9th December 2007
What a fantastic Tour – thanks to Carl for his magnificent efforts in again gaining our involvement and organizing everything. All had a wonderful time (on and off the pitch), some great rugby, terrific hospitality, much bonding (coaches, players and parents) and excessive quantities of festive cheer! Congratulations to all but especially our U11 squad who won the Cup for the 2nd successive year (incredibly no tries conceded for 2 years now), our U12 squad who narrowly lost the Cup Final and our U10 squad who got 2 teams into the Cup semi finals unfortunately just losing both. All will have left having gained a lot but the experience and friends will be what is mainly taken away as well as a few bumps and bruises – events such as this weekend are why we are involved in the game.
- I trust those who were able enjoyed their weekend off
- Flying Kukris Festival next weekend so I trust all of you are set and have provided Carl with all the info for which he has asked regarding your bus requirements but please ensure you communicate with your squad on all aspects to ensure the day runs smoothly
- There has been some concerns about illegal play over recent Festivals (biting and high tackles mainly) which is totally unacceptable; Valley Fort must not be party to this in any way so please remind your squad of the Laws, the Codes of Conduct and the spirit of the game as directed by the HKMRFU
- I am away for 10 days so Carl will prepare the weekly coaches report after the Kukris Festival and please email him the results in the usual format so he can post
- 16th December is our last session before the Christmas break and it is at the Fort so welcome back to the U5 squad
- Please let me have your team entries by close of play 17th December for the Tai Po Dragons Festival which is being held at King’s Park on 13th Jan
