Message from the Manager:

Hi Guys
It certainly was a great finish to the season at the IYT where after getting off to a great start we floundered against Sandy Bay in the group play & so went into the plate. After a good win in the semis against TPD we then had a tremendous tussle with DEA in the final, coming from 2 tries down to level the game in normal time.Sadly we lost out on a sudden death try which was unfortunate but you all played magnificently & I was proud of the way you kept fighting from being down & were at evens at full time.Well done lads terriffic finish to the season.
Wes & Ollie after much deliberation between themselves came up with the following players for this year's awards:

Player of the Year
Winner Joshua Peters
Runner-up Joshua Clewes

Squad Member of the Year
Winner Alban Altier
Runner-up Matt Graylin

We had 5 players in all who played in the Showcase Sevens in the stadium on sunday. For the Island Team Alban Altier,Theo Rolston,Joshua Clewes & Joshua Peters & for the Peninsula Zack. So well done to you all & in case you did not know the outcome Island won by 17 to 0 with our own Alban Altier touching down one of the 3 tries.
On saturday the U16 National squad leave for Malaysia where they have 3 games in total including playing the Malaysian U16 Nationals & the United Arab Emirates U16 Nationals so a very tough tour.Four of our players made it into the Touring squad namely Theo Rolston,Alban Altier,Joshua Clewes & Joshua Peters so I am sure you will join me in congratulating them & wishing them & the whole National U 16 squad every success on the tour.
I would like to thank each & very one of the players in the squad for a great season with terrific results from what back in December looked to be a season where we would go not very far after our massive defeat to DEA at Sandy Bay who we then played in January & beat.We then also beat them in the S.C. 7s & had close tussles also with HKFC who unfortunately we just did not get to be victorious over, but we certainly made it very even between the 3 clubs at U16.So big thanks go to our valiant coaches Wes & Ollie; for through their great coaching effected this brilliant turnaround & we hope we will have the privelege & pleasure to be working with them again next season.
Thanks to all the parents for their fabulous support throughout the season & for having such great lads for us to coach for the 8 months!
I wish all of you in the lower age group continued success in U16s next season & all of you coming up to U18s every success in the next season & yes you are indeed stuck with me once again!
Although its been a long season it really has flown by too quickly so all that remains is to wish everyone a wonderful summer & see you all on a rugby pitch soon.
Cheers
David
