from the Coach:
The season concluded this weekend at the
7’s with some marvelous rugby in the showcase games;
we won 3 of our 4 matches with a high try scoring ratio in
our favour. Our focus on defence was not so strong in these
games although this can be forgiven as many of our players
were enjoying seeing themselves in action on the big screen
in the stadium! The squad also behaved exceptionally well
in the Sunday march past parade although their adherence to
doing as instructed may have had more to do with the lack
of squidgy mini balls and other objects being launched at
them and so removed their need to run off in all directions
to gather these.
We will resume the next season in September
and all those registered for the season just ended should
receive an email in advance of our first training session.
The coaches will be spending some time in the off season preparing
a structured training programme to cover all the aspects and
skills on which we intend to focus.
Many thanks to all the coaches for their
efforts during the season and anyone wishing to coach next
season should email me.
